01 這條記錄是什麼
頁首上有書眉日期“November 1572”。各封信連同地址依次抄錄，出自一人之手，所以這是一份登記簿，而不是寄出的原信。DECODE 影象 P5 和 P6 的張次順序是顛倒的。

02 加密段落
伯利，11月7日：
- “a person come, as he saith, from Florence [9]”
- “letters which the partie hath written to Rome [9]”
- “The partie 776 + w5 ‡ 6 3 ∩ 6 remaineth here in London … and yet I doubt the P. will smell of him”。這是一種字母密碼，很可能拼寫的是此人的名字。
沃爾辛厄姆致伯利，11月27日：
- “delivered to Steward, for that Glasgow [7] was not here”
- “he biddeth me tell him as [3] that he is now without fear of danger”
- “He wisheth [3] to look well to Scotland, and that Manessier is sent but to abuse her Majesty with fair words”
- “If Steward himself, or the [9], shall learn any thing that toucheth [3], I shall be advertised”
- “within these 8 days … [7] protested that he should never be quiet so long as the exercise of Religion continued in any one place of Christendom”
- “both he and Spain shall, for the avoiding of suspicion of the Legate’s coming, entertain the [3] with good words”

03 識別出了什麼，嘗試了什麼
[3] = 女王。在全部四處，這個程式碼都代表英國政策所繫的那個人：一個被提醒要留意蘇格蘭的人，一個訊息可能“touch”（觸及）的人，一個法國和西班牙打算“用好話敷衍”的人。女王每一處都符合，而沒有別的人選能符合全部四處。等級 C（上下文一致，無金鑰）。
[7]、[9]、H。[7] 跟在“Glasgow”（格拉斯哥主教，蘇格蘭女王瑪麗的大使）後面，也是那個發誓只要新教還存在就絕不罷休的人。這指向洛林樞機主教或吉斯公爵，但跟在名字後面的程式碼可能標記的是頭銜而不是人。[9] 既跟在“Florence”後面，也跟在“Rome”後面，然後又單獨出現（“the [9]”）。它的三次使用無法落定在同一個人身上，所以仍懸而未決。
九個符號的密文段。它混用了數字、一個字母和圖形符號。一套未知字母表的九個符號，沒有金鑰是無法解讀的。
核查過的內容：同一卷中的姊妹記錄（R8357、R8363）沒有金鑰。這幾頁上沒有註解。Tomokiyo 對伊麗莎白時代密碼的綜述（塞西爾–Norris、Throckmorton、Stafford）中沒有1570–73年沃爾辛厄姆的金鑰。CSP Foreign 第十卷沒有為這幾封信編寫提要。Digges 刊印時沒有解讀這些程式碼。
04 尚待解決
- f. 367r 上的字母密文段“776 + w5 ‡ 6 3 ∩ 6”：太短，沒有金鑰。
- 程式碼 [7]（×2）、[9]（×3）和 H：沒有金鑰材料。
線索：沃爾辛厄姆寄出的原件（Hatfield 或 SP 70）上可能有伯利書記員的解讀；此外，Digges 刊印的1571–73年其他信件使用同樣的加框程式碼，所以把它們全部清點一遍，或許能確定 [7] 和 [9]。
